Agelity

Keeping mind and body healthy through the years

Overview

D-pinitol helps against age-associated impairment of insulin signaling, lipid metabolism and neurodegeneration-associated mechanisms. These coordinated actions might contribute to prevent insulin resistance, liver steatosis and tau-protein deposition in the brain through unique pharmacological actions.

Benefits

D-pinitol, the inositol for a healthy aging

Healthy aging is a global demand. Insulin resistance, chronic liver metabolic dysfunction and neurodegeneration associated to tau-protein deposition are among the main disorders that complicate the natural process of aging. Finding accesible solutions is an unmet clicnical need.

D-Pinitol improves carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, and reduce factors promoting neurodegeneration

D-Pinitol is a natural orally active inositol improving insulin resitance by concerted actions on pancreas and the liver. It reduces fat deposition in the liver, helping to avoid steatohepatitis, and reduces the risk of neurodegeneration (including Alzheimer’s Disease). Overall, its consumption is a preventive strategy for chronic disorders accelerating age-associated dissabilities.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Prevention of insulin resistance and neurodegeneration

D-Pinitol reduces the burden of work of the pancreatic islets associated with hyperglicaemia. This action helps to prevent insulin resistance and lipid deposition in the liver. In addition, D-Pinitol reduces tau fosforilation, helping to reduce neurodegeneration associated to tauopathies including alzheimer’s Disease. This effect is achieved though modulation of CDK5, a key enzyme in neurodegeneration and inflammation.
