Healthy aging is a global demand. Insulin resistance, chronic liver metabolic dysfunction and neurodegeneration associated to tau-protein deposition are among the main disorders that complicate the natural process of aging. Finding accesible solutions is an unmet clicnical need.
D-Pinitol is a natural orally active inositol improving insulin resitance by concerted actions on pancreas and the liver. It reduces fat deposition in the liver, helping to avoid steatohepatitis, and reduces the risk of neurodegeneration (including Alzheimer’s Disease). Overall, its consumption is a preventive strategy for chronic disorders accelerating age-associated dissabilities.
D-Pinitol reduces the burden of work of the pancreatic islets associated with hyperglicaemia. This action helps to prevent insulin resistance and lipid deposition in the liver. In addition, D-Pinitol reduces tau fosforilation, helping to reduce neurodegeneration associated to tauopathies including alzheimer’s Disease. This effect is achieved though modulation of CDK5, a key enzyme in neurodegeneration and inflammation.
